How nature creates the most beautiful things :)

As I said in the previous posts I went to Bangor recently to see an old friend and she took me to a beautiful place called Aber Falls (even though we were both full up with a cold and it was a rainy day). It got me thinking though when I got home that it’s so amazing how nature and natural occurances can create such beautiful things.

Moon controls

How is it that our moon controls the sea tides? It is a strange suggestion to start off with let alone a fact.

As the moon is in orbit with the earth there is a gravitational pull between the two huge rocks that keeps them in sync. However it is said that the moon is gradually moving away from us. So to start with it must have had some fluctuation in the first place to come up with such theories. Which means that because of the fluctuations of the moon being drawn in there is a force and such a force that causes the water of the earth to move.

Someone has also suggested that:

The Moon has a long association with insanity and irrationality; the words lunacy and loony are derived from the Latin name for the Moon, Luna. Philosophers such as Aristotle and Pliny the Elderargued that the full Moon induced insanity in susceptible individuals, believing that the brain, which is mostly water, must be affected by the Moon and its power over the tides, but the Moon’s gravity is too slight to affect any single person.[171] Even today, people insist that admissions to psychiatric hospitals, traffic accidents, homicides or suicides increase during a full Moon, although there is no scientific evidence to support such claims – wikipedia

This theory is probably where the werewolf stories come from.

Is there a god?

I think this question has always been everyone’s curiosity. Is there a god? Well a lot of people these days like proof of things. I personally don’t know if there is or isn’t a god. My opinion is that it is on belief and faith, for these things are not meant to be proved.
However, as I am not religious I still am curious to whether there is a god. I think I believe that all religions are right and that there is at least some god.

Frozen icicles in the sea?

I have been watching a documentary series called “Frozen Planet” on broadcasting on BBC one. It is a very interesting programme I like to watch. I came across something I thought couldn’t happen. Icicles forming in sea water. I would never have thought about that happening.
The waste coming off new ice being formed above the sea in winter of the poles is known as brine (waste) which in this case is super concentrated salt water. This salt water is so concentrated that it is heavy so it sinks quickly. As it sinks into the sea water it freezes and anything in its way (e.g. starfish or plants) will die instantly as it reaches towards the bottom.

Swirls = Super concentrated salt water

New Planet?

Astronomers have found hundreds upon hundreds of exoplanets in this universe, but very few seem friendly. Many that have been found are massive, uninhabitable gas giants, but one has piqued public interest because of the fact that it’s a rocky planet in a habitable zone around its star (like our sun). And now some astronomers feel this planet, Kepler 22-b, may indeed have oceans and continents. It is about 600 light years away. It’s extraordinary that we can find this so far away and know so much about them. To travel there now is the problem (haha, but I’m sure it’ll be possible in future). This is exciting news 😀

Akiane Kramarik

This girl started painting at a very young age and even though I am not a religious person I respect any and every religion that is out there because someone’s faith in anything is a brilliant thing. I believe that if you have faith in something then it should never be judged upon and it is how you feel and what you believe is right that makes us human.
Akiane Kramarik is such a  wonder to this world. Her faith and belief in god inspires her to paint. It is amazing that god communicates through and to her to also communicate to the world. My friend once told me that god works in many ways and has a plan for all of us. I have to admit but I believe that. This girl is a good example of this sentence. Her paintings have so much depth and meaning to them, even though she or some other people may not understand them, but as the communication is from god it may not meant to be understood but just needed to be shared. It could also just be a simple act to let others know that god is always there and this girl is the message to all.
Her art work and ideas are astounding. I am in love with this one especially this one. I think it means that god is watching over us.

A lot of them are to do with space. It could be suggesting that god is the universe?

Here is Akiane with her paintings in an art gallery 🙂
