A task was set in my lecture: Design and layout written text given using the grid as a guide. Choices of fonts can only be sans serif e.g. Helvetica. I was in search of new sans serif fonts and came across this typeface called Baar Sophie. It has quite a nice design to it.
I am absolutely loving the game called Alice madness returns at the moment and there is one part of the game where you have to visit the Mad Hatter’s house and I loved the look on it so much I print screened it (2nd Image) and enhanced the colours so you could see it more in colour. I created this wallpaper for my background (1st Image) and it looks stunning 😀 I thought I would share this with you as I have not seen anyone notice it’s beauty online, enjoy!
For a task set to help us with our projects for university I was given text about “The Grid System” invented by Josef Müller Brockmann. I was to use the grid system as a guide to arrange text. Once I had attempted and presented the try outs in class I was then to create a typographic hierachy with use of colour if desired. Here are my experiments. Let me know what you think 🙂
Anyone seen the last episode of the recent Doctor who? No? Oh well you don’t need to know, all you need to know is the cool stuff I just found about it 😛
Take a look at this inspired logo design; each letter is made out of a monster or a related object from the series of Doctor Who.
The ‘D’ is shaped using the time symbols created for the series and of course the Doctor’s famous tool – the sonic screwdriver.
The ‘O’ is a cute rendered image of the alien called ‘The Cybermen’.
The ‘C’ is the TARDIS trails created from it’s power and speed in the vortex.
The ‘T’ is of one of my frightful monsters in Doctor Who and that is of course the ‘Weeping Angels’.
The ‘O’ is in the shape of a alien race called ‘The ood’.
And last of all but not least is the ‘R’ that is in the shape of the most famous of all the aliens and monsters – ‘The Daleks’
This site has packaging to create a 3D box image of the TARDIS and some of the monsters. It is a bit complex but great design and would be awesome to make and have on your desk (especially the Dalek).
